about

In Safar, we meet a Prabh Deep that looks unsure of himself and his surroundings. There is something different about this Prabh’s body language from the one that we saw in the last sketch and it is revealed that this Prabh has forgotten who he is and the entire narrative arc that he undertook on Tabia. As we roll towards the final cinematographic shot, we understand this entire album is a loop that reveals that this man stuck in a groundhog day time loop.

lyrics

Yadash chali gayi, // I’ve forgotten
hatha di lakeera badal gayia, // The lines of fate drawn upon my hands have changed
zubaan Mari gayi. // My tongue has been cut off
Sikhna Mai shuru Kita shuru toh. // I’ve been learning from the very beginning
Hva nu Mai kitta pehli vari a mehsoos, // I felt the wind for the first time
Pehli baar suneya vistaar ch sangeet, // I heard music for the first time in peace
Pehli vaar waqt ban Gaya ve ateet, // For the first time, time became meaningless
Pehli vaar kudrat naal hoya Mai shareek, // I became one with nature for the first time
Pehli vaar Bina bole samjheya veer. // My brother understood me without words being exchanged
Mainu ehna pata ve, // This much I know
Mainu sab kuch nahio pata. // That I don’t know everything
Ehna hi aa boht mere layi. // That is enough for me
Ehna hi aa boht mere layi. // That is enough for me
Mainu ehna pata ve, // This much I know
Mainu sab kuch nahio pata. // That I don’t know everything
Ehna hi aa boht mere layi. // That is enough for me
Ehna hi aa boht mere layi. // That is enough for me
Koi v Hakeem jaan da ni mere toh jyada Mera shareer. // No one knows my body more than me
Haspatala vich milde ne nashe, // You’ll find drugs in the hospital
schoola vich galat itihaas, // The wrong history is taught in schools
adalat ch mile na insaaf, // Justice isn’t found in our courts
dharam toh Miley na hun shaanti, // You won’t find peace in religion these days
samachaar vich galat jaankaari. // You’ll get the wrong information in today’s news
Eda laggey, (tu) // It seems like
dharti layi insaan ban gya ve bimaari. // Humanity has become a sickness on this earth
Je huney naio uthe, // If we don’t wake up now
humesh layi sojaoge. // We’ll be sleeping forever
Je gal Meri kro, (mai) // If you speak about me

gall karra majaudagi de naal. // I talk to existence itself.
Pucha, sawaal ch Aya kidda dimaag? // I wonder where these questions are coming from?
Eh mahshuria da asar a. // This is the effect of advertisements all around
Mere kalle da eh safar ni. // This isn’t my journey to take alone
Mai tu te tu Mai aa. // I’m you and you’re me
Paya sheesheya te kafan mai. // I’ve buried the mirrors that showed me distorted realities
Dikhe na mainu shakal, // I couldn’t see my face
Mai hogya azad, // I’m free now
Mai hogya azad, // I’m free now
Mai bangaya paed, // I’ve become a tree
Mai bangaya rab, // I’ve become a god
Mai bangaya den, // I’ve become you
Mai bangaya sab, // I’ve become everybody
par kuch ni aa mai. // But I’m nothing
Jina mai majaudagi naal bs. // I just live to exist
Har sawere mainu lage meri, // Every morning feels like,
Yadash chali gayi, // I’ve forgotten
hatha di lakeera badal gayia, // The lines of fate drawn upon my hands have changed
zubaan Mari gayi.
// That is enough for me
Saah bacha reha va mai. // I’m saving my breath
Saah bacha reha va mai. // I’m saving my breath
